UKOPA Working Groups
UKOPA currently operates five working groups, each with its own set of objectives and terms of reference. The Chair of each group reports to the Board at every meeting and provides bi-annual updates to Members.

Fault and Risk Assessment Working Group
The Fault and Risk Assessment Working Group (FARWG) offers expert insights on pipeline fault data and risk assessment, focusing on safety, supply security, and environmental matters on behalf of UKOPA.
Process Safety Working Group
The Pipeline Integrity Working Group (PIWG) delivers consistent expert advice on pipeline integrity and defect assessment, addressing safety, supply security, and environmental concerns on behalf of UKOPA.
Corrosion Prevention Working Group
The Corrosion Prevention Working Group (CPWG) fosters collaboration to share knowledge and develop guidance on mitigating the environmental and financial impacts of corrosion. By pooling onshore corrosion experience, the group aims to reduce costs and safeguard assets, addressing the second most common failure mode in pipelines. With corrosion costing over 3.4% of global GDP, the group seeks to enhance mitigation strategies and better understand asset preservation.
